The Client

This family’s existing home was lovely, but simply didn’t feel like them. The aesthetics didn’t match their style, and the flow worked against their day-to-day living.

The Challenge

This client wanted the whole home to feel refreshed, with only the kitchen and living room receiving a full remodel. Our design ensured that it was not obvious which portions of the home were completely redone, and which were original. We elevated the rest of the original home with cohesive flooring, new trim, new doors, and fresh paint. The homeowners continued to live in their home during construction, so we ensured their comfort was a top priority - the team wrapped up 30 minutes early each day, testing all utilities, cleaning up, and fixing anything that needed to be usable for the night.

The Results

An aesthetic that matched their tastes, and a larger and more open living area that finally made sense. Their kitchen island could finally seat the whole family, with a better flow into the dining and TV areas. Plus, everything finally had a ‘home’: The pantry held small appliances to keep the countertops clear, the bar in the living room got a major upgrade for hosting (with bonus storage for things that didn’t need to live in the main kitchen). We even swapped out the large appliances to better accommodate the hunger of their growing teens. We even worked with the HOA to change the front facade windows in keeping with the neighborhood rules.
